Mareena Boosamra Ball has been the Director of Choral Activities at Rincon/University High School in Tucson, AZ for the past 19 years. Her award winning choirs have traveled to New York City six times over the past years, performing five times at Carnegie Hall and once at Riverside Church where all three of her choirs received ratings of Gold. In a recent tour she worked with the composer Dan Forrest, and performed his pieces on Carnegie Hall stage with other choirs from other parts of the nation. In 2014 Mrs. Boosamra Ball took her 90 voice Concert Choir on their first Europe Tour since the 1970s. They sang in Ireland, Wales and England ending with a beautiful concert in St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.

She also taught choral music for 5 ½ years at Cholla H.S. as well as general music for another 5 ½ years at SS Peter and Paul Catholic School also in Tucson, AZ.

Mareena received all of her degrees from the University of Arizona. She has a Bachelor of Music Education, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and is currently pursing her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting.

She debuted with the Arizona Opera Company in her role as Giovanna in the Verdi opera, Rigoletto as well as Mrs. Benson in Delibes opera Lakme. Mareena also performed in over 15 operas with the University of Arizona Opera Theater as a soloist in all but one.

Mareena is the Sacred Music Coordinator for the Diocese of Los Angeles and the West with the Antiochian Christian Orthodox Church. She has been in this position for over 27 years. She has been directing the Holy Resurrection Antiochian Orthodox Church choir for the past 40 years.
